Dean’s Speech
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. We praise Him with the praise of those who are thankful, and we pray and greet the Messenger as a mercy to the worlds, our Master Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers, and then: In my opinion, engineering is the art of transforming scientific ideas and theories into wonderful engineering achievements that serve and assist humans in all areas of life. The Faculty of Engineering at El Sheikh Abdullah El-Badri University is one of the beacons of engineering science spread throughout our beloved country which is intended to provide the citadels of industry and development with distinguished engineers capable of contributing to the building and reconstruction of our dear homeland. It is known that engineers are the makers of renaissance and the foundation of development for their homelands, and it is a great honour that such engineering faculties provide and nourish the homeland with these personnel. The Faculty of Engineering at El Sheikh Abdullah El-Badri University is one of the nascent engineering faculties that is moving forward at a steady pace that was planned by the founders to assume its position as one of the bastions of development in our dear country. So far, it includes three departments that are in line with the needs of the region and the country, the Department of Civil Engineering, the Department of Electrical Engineering, and the Department of Mechanical Engineering. All of these departments received accreditation from the Engineering Council of the American Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) in 2016. We are also pleased with the opening of the Departments of Biomedical Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering. And other new engineering departments, By Allah willing. I am also pleased to highly appreciate the great efforts made by the university administration and the Faculty of Engineering members to advance the faculty standard, through the appointment of a distinguished group of professors with doctorates and master’s degrees, and trained technicians, besides equipping the faculty with the latest laboratories and workshops in all specializations, in addition to creating a cheerful university environment that provides the student with all his needs in all aspects, intending to make the faculty one of the outstanding faculties at the Local, regional and global levels , by Allah willing and support. And to become a destination for students from all over Sudan and neighbouring countries, and for its contributions in the field of research and human service to be referred to as an icon with a sense of pride. I take this opportunity to express my complete confidence in the university administration and the faculty members, assistants and students in working together in order to advance the faculty’s move towards further development and sophistication in educational and student activities, community service, and environmental development, based on modern scientific and technical foundations to keep pace with the requirements of the modern era, with the faculty’s great potential and enormous creative competencies. Dear students, I welcome you to the faculty. You are taking the steps to higher education and have achieved your hope of enrolling in the university, seeking to complete your educational career. In order to be able to achieve what you aspire to, I advise you to adhere to university traditions and be diligent in knowledge perusal. I also advise you to participate in student activities which develops your personal abilities, gives you self-confidence, teaches you the values of belonging and giving, and also brings you more benefit and enjoyment of your university stage. The faculty affiliates have my utmost respect , and I thank you very much for the effort you are making and for your generous giving and great affiliation. However, with all that you have done and are doing, I find that we are all required to exert our best efforts and mobilize our creative energies to support the this institution and ensure its continuation. Its development. May God guide us all to what He loves and is pleased with.
